It’s compatible with many video and music formats, and it’s a handy picture gallery. It’s also free and open source, if that’s your thing.

But can you use Kodi on Chromebook? The short answer is yes. The longer answer depends on which Chromebook you own. Regardless of the model of Chromebook, you will be able to install Kodi, but if you have access to the Google Play Store, it will be a lot easier.

Kodi on Chromebook: Google Play Store
If your Chromebook supports Android apps and has access to the Google Play Store, this will be easy. Simply download the app, and you’re good to go.
That’s it. You now have Kodi for Chromebook and you’re ready to stream.
Kodi on Chromebook: No Google Play Store
Genesis for kodi apk download. Not all Chromebooks come with the Google Play Store or support Android apps. Don’t let this discourage you, as you can still use Kodi by following a few extra steps (Okay, quite a few).

First, you’ll want to to make sure you’re running the current, stable version of Chrome OS. Usually, your Chromebook will automatically update its OS every six weeks, but it’s always best to double check.
Next you’ll want to install ARC Welder, an Android development app. If you’re not a developer, don’t worry. That’s what it’s made for, but it has other uses — like installing Kodi on Chromebook.
Install Kodi On Chrome Os
Because you can’t use the Google Play Store, you’ll need to find an .APK file of Kodi. This is where you want to be careful, as a lot of third party sources aren’t reliable places to download files. APKMirror is one that is generally trusted by developers, so it’s a good place to download Kodi. APKPure is another solid option if you can’t use APKMirror for whatever reason.
How do you download kodi. Once you’re done, you’ll be given some options for how to run Kodi. Make sure you select landscape orientation and your form factor is set to tablet. Kodi xbmc jarvis windows download.
Kodi should launch on your Chromebook, and you’re good to go.
Kodi on Chromebook: Kodi Chrome extension
ARC unfortunately doesn’t allow you to use multiple apps at once. That means you have to “test” Kodi every time you want to use it (remember, this is a tool for developers).

There’s a workaround though. You can set Kodi as a Chrome extension.
This will create a Kodi extension in your Chrome browser you can click on and launch anytime.

If not, it’s good to know you can still install and use Kodi. It’s a hassle, and obviously not perfect, but it sure gets the job done. Unfortunately, ARC Welder is the only option currently available outside of the Google Play Store, so hopefully we’ve saved you some time looking for alternatives.
